Emily Birsan Voice Studio
During my years pursuing degrees in Performance and in Opera, I have taught and led music in churches, music schools, and held a private voice studio.
I have had the pleasure of teaching masterclasses and judging competitions, collaborating with organizations like Lawrence Conservatory, UW-Madison, UW-Whitewater, and Chicago Summer Opera.
My voice teachers are Karen Leigh-Post and Julia Faulkner. I believe in a balance of traditional chiaro-sciuro italian technical exercises, vowel tracking, somatic awareness, low larynx exercises and breath motivated singing. Everyone has something unique to say with their voice, and I teach a technical foundation, a knowledge of acting and historical references, and a state of free flow body awareness in order to achieve one’s unique artistry.
